Codeplay releases advanced new optimizer for PlayStation®2 developers
1st December 2003
Codeplay announced the release of VectorC{VU} version 2.3 today with an advanced new optimizer for the PlayStation®2 vector units. This new version of VectorC{VU} comes with a complete polygon renderer for PlayStation®2, so developers can get started on new projects straight away.

VectorC{VU} version 2.3 lets PlayStation®2 developers write fast renderers, physics simulation, collision detection and performance improvements on the PlayStation®2 vector units in C or C++. This makes VectorC{VU} ideal for developing prototypes or adding special effects. Developers that want to improve frame counts can use VectorC{VU} to optimize their games by making greater use of vector units.

More information on VectorC{VU} is available on the Codeplay web site: http://www.codeplay.com

VectorC{VU} can be purchased by SCEE/SCEA or SCEI licenced PlayStation®2 developers from Metrowerks (games@metrowerks.com) or direct from Codeplay (sales@codeplay.com).
