Codeplay shortlisted for IET award
26th September 2007

Codeplay has been shortlisted as a finalist for the IET 2007 Innovation in Engineering Awards. Codeplay entered into the IT category with it's research and development work on the Sieve C++ Parallel Programming System, for writing scalable software to exploit multi-core processors.

Codeplay are pleased to be present at CEATEC Japan 2007 to demonstrate our cutting-edge compiler technology. Our booth will be open throughout the duration of the exhibition and we look forward to demonstrating our products and are happy to answer any questions and engage in technical discussions.

Codeplay Recruiting for EngD Studentship
18th June 2007

Codeplay are looking to recruit a new member of staff to undertake a four year doctoral studentship, fully funded at a competitive rate.

The studentship is for an EngD qualification. This doctoral level qualification is similar to a PhD, but is more oriented towards industry and business than theory and academia.

The successful applicant's time would be split between working at Codeplay on compiler research and development, and studying advanced modules in computing science and electronic engineering at a selection of Scottish universities.

Codeplay at Microprocessor Forum Japan 2007
12th June 2007

Codeplay will be at at the Microprocessor Forum in Tokyo on June 19-20, where we will be demonstrating the Sieve C++ Parallel Programming System.

Codeplay will show Sieve-enabled Fractal and Image Generators on x86 PC and PS3. For the gamers present, we'll show the latest version of Cell Factor running with the Ageia PhysX card - it's stunning and our compiler helped!

Codeplay at Games Developers Conference
20st February 2007

Codeplay is part of a delegation of 10 Scottish companies to GDC in San Francisco. The delegation is organised by Scottish Development International.

Codeplay will be exploring opportunities for its Sieve Parallel Processing Compiler technology and Shader Compiler technology.

 

Codeplay's Sieve Technology tested on 8-Core PC system
19 February 2007

Codeplay has succesfully tested programs written using the Sieve Parallel Processing System on a dual Intel® Xeon® 5300 system. The results showed 740% performance increase executing in parallel on 8 cores compared to that on a single core.

Codeplay's Sieve Technology runs on Cell Processor
13th February 2007

Codeplay has successfully demonstrated its Sieve Parallel Processing Compiler operating on Sony's Cell Processor.  The demonstration, using a Sony Playstation®3, ran under Yellow Dog Linux.  The demonstration proved that the Sieve system offers a clear linear performance advantage on multicore processor architectures, and that programs written in Sieve C++ are portable and scalable.
