EXPERIENCED PROGRAMMER

This is an opportunity for a software engineer to work on producing a shader compiler for next generation mobile phone hardware. You will be a member of a small team of developers collaborating with our compiler experts and one of the leading academics in the field. Ideally, you will have had experience with compiler development or assembly language programming.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing and implementing various compiler components (parser, optimizer, register allocator, code generator)
  • Researching and implementing new optimizations.
  • Extensive testing to demonstrate your solutions work
  • Customer support

You must...

  • have a BSc or MsC in computer science or related studies
  • have had exposure to compiler design
  • have the ability to program within very tight memory constraints
  • Be able to program in C/C++/assembly
  • Want to do new, highly technical challenges

We are looking for passionate developers who can demonstrate a keen interest in compilers (ideally through project work). Candidates should have a degree in computer science or related studies with a background in compilers, computer architectures or programming languages. Currently we can only consider applicants who are entitled to work in the UK.

Salary: £20k - £25k


Codeplay is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. All development work is based in Edinburgh, so applicants will need to be in Edinburgh or prepared to move, and have UK or EU citizenship or a work permit. For well qualified candidates we can arrange work permits.
