Codeplay was an early contributor to the specification of OpenCL, working with many industry-leading companies and institutions including 3DLABS, Activision Blizzard, AMD, Apple, ARM, Barco, Broadcom, Electronic Arts, Ericsson, Freescale, HI, IBM, Intel, Imagination Technologies, Kestrel Institute, Motorola, Movidia, Nokia, NVIDIA, QNX, RapidMind, Samsung, Seaweed, Takumi, Texas Instruments and Umeå University. OpenCL provides a uniform programming environment for software developers to write efficient, portable code for high-performance compute servers, desktop computer systems and handheld devices using a diverse mix of multi-core CPUs, GPUs, Cell-type architectures and other parallel processors such as DSPs. | |
Scottish GovernmentCodeplay was awarded a Scottish Government SMART Award to research multi processor parallelization solutions in 2005. That award was followed up with a SPUR grant in 2006 and a SCIS grant in 2008. In May 2009 Codeplay was awarded a further SMART grant to research a Rapid Application Development tool for manycore processors. | |
